HOPPY NEWS FOR MONDAY 1-13-14

3 CLEARFIELD COUNTY MEN ARE BEING CALLED HEROES AFTER SAVING A WOMAN’S LIFE SATURDAY. HER CAR CRASHED INTO A TREE AND CAUGHT FIRE AT THE INTERSECTION OF HENDERSON STREET AND RANKIN ROAD IN HOUTZDALE. SCOTT JOHNSON, CHRIS KEPHART, AND LOGAN COOK PULLED THE WOMAN FROM THE VEHICLE. SHE SUFFERED A FRACTURED BACK AND OTHER INJURIES.

THE PENNSYLVANIA FARM SHOW SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION PRESENTED 25 STUDENTS WITH 35-HUNDRED DOLLAR SCHOLARSHIPS LAST WEEK IN HARRISBURG. INCLUDING 10 PENN STATE STUDENTS…8 OF THEM WHO ATTEND THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES. THE FARM SHOW SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED MORE THAN $1 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIP MONEY TO MORE THAN 400 STUDENTS SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1993. ROLLING HILLS NATURE BOY, EXHIBITED BY GERALD ALLEBAUGH OF SPRING MILLS, WAS NAMED THE SUPREME CHAMPION DRAFT HORSE AND CHAMPION PERCHERON STALLION AT THE SHOW. WINDERMERE FARMS, OWNED BY THE ALLEBACH FAMILY, IS HOME TO 4 WORLD CHAMPION PERCHERONS. THE FARM ALSO EXHIBITED THE CHAMPION CLYDESDALE MARE.

DAVID HERSHEY OF SPRING MOUNT PERCHERONS IN WARRIORS MARK PRESENTED THE CHAMPION GELDING PERCHERON.
