air force veteran sandy showalter of east freedom was in louisville kentucky recently and honored with the title of all-american commander, the most prestigious award given by the v-f-w. 40 commanders worldwide were selected for the honor. showalter just served a year as commander of the state’s 22nd district made up of 23 posts in blair, clearfield, and centre counties.

ron smith who works for the ALTOONA water authority was a hero last tuesday when he ran into a burning APARTMENT building On BROAD AVENUE AND RESCUEd A MAN AND HIS 2 YOUNG DAUGHTERS.
