HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WENT TO THE DUBOIS V-F-W FOR SUNDAY’S FUNDRAISER TO HELP STATE TROOPER BRAD WILSON

WHO WAS SHOT LAST MONTH. THEY ALL DONATED 12-DOLLARS FOR A STEAK DINNER WITH PROCEEDS GOING TO WILSON AND HIS FAMILY. ABOUT 200 PEOPLE WALKED IN THE 30TH ANNUAL STATE COLLEGE CROP HUNGER WALK SUNDAY. PROCEEDS GO TOWARD RELIEF AGENCIES AND LOCAL FOOD BANKS. THE GROUP HAS RAISED OVER 454-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN THE PAST 30 YEARS. SO FAR THIS YEAR, THE TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED IS OVER 17-THOUSAND-500 DOLLARS.

THE WALK NOW FOR AUTISM WALK WAS HELD THIS WEEKEND AT PEOPLES NATURAL GAS FIELD IN ALTOONA. HUNDREDS TURNED OUT FOR THAT EVENT AS WELL.

AND A NEW HAMPSHIRE WAITRESS WHO PICKED UP THE BILL FOR 2 NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIERS WAS REPAID MORE THAN 300 TIMES BY ELLEN DEGENERES. ELLEN HAD WAITRESS SARAH HOIDAHL ON HER SHOW. SHE SETTLED THE $27 BILL, THEN GAVE SARAH A $10,000 CHECK AND A 50-INCH TV. THE WAITRESS HAD LEFT A NOTE FOR THE SOLDIERS SAYING: "THANKS TO THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN THE PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT PROTECT THIS COUNTRY ARE NOT GETTING PAID, HOWEVER I STILL AM. LUNCH IS ON ME, THANK YOU FOR SERVING, LADIES! HAVE A GOOD DAY!"
