first of all, a big thank you to all the people who are involved in recovery efforts following the dubois flooding. lots of churches are collecting food and clothing. the american red cross opened up shelters and is helping many families. and entire neighborhoods are coming together and DOing THEIR PART.
we also want to mention everyone who is lending a hand after the fire that destroyed the waupelani heights apartment complex in state college. about 40 people were left homeless and many escaped with just the clothes on their backs. volunteers have been collecting all kinds of donations to get these folks back on their feet.
Nationally, Donations are pouring into the Cleveland Courage Fund after kidnapping victims Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight released a YouTube thank-you video. The fund received about 30-thousand-dollars in donations within hours after the video posted. THE WOMEN were kidnapped as teenagers and held captive for around a decade before they were rescued in May.
