Something you may not know about me...I have a cardiac stent. Yup..I've had it since November of 2009.. Had an 80% blockage. I have no history of heart disease in my family. I'm a runner..quit smoking years ago...so, when I started feeling dizzy when I ran...was so tired all of the time...I really never thought "heart problem". But..one morning when I was running, I got a pain in my chest that went into my left should and arm. I walked home..thought everything was good..until I got so dizzy that I nearly fell down. That lasted about a half hour or 45 minutes. My doctor sent me for a nuclear stress test..even when I was running on the treadmill, my EKG was normal. Then..when they looked at the photos of my heart, there was a shadow. Off for a heart cath....and the discovery of the blockage. Do I feel lucky? You better believe it! Please, listen to your body! YOU know if something isn't right..and I would love it if all women would learn more about the symptoms of heart attack, which may be VERY different in women that men.
