The Women’s Imaging Center at J.C. Blair Hosts Reception
Huntingdon, PA (10/10/2013) – The J.C. Blair Women’s Imaging Center invites the community to a reception honoring Mrs. Margaret “Peg” Pettinger for her leadership gift to the Mammography Program on Wednesday, October 16th at 4 p.m. in the Radiology Department. Mrs. Pettinger’s gift made it possible for J.C. Blair to become the first and only Imaging Center in the region to offer digital Tomosynthesis or three-dimensional mammography.
The Imaging Department staff will present Mrs. Pettinger with a plaque thanking her for her contribution in honor of her daughter, Dr. Maria T. Pettinger, Chief Radiologist and her sister, Captain Carol Anne Carney.
The Women’s Imaging Center performs more than 4,000 mammograms each year, offering high quality screening and diagnostic medical care in a compassionate manner to all patients in Huntingdon County and surrounding areas. When breast cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, the five-year survival rate is 97 percent. The Women’s Imaging Center at J.C. Blair now offers the latest technology so our patients have the best chance of a positive outcome thanks to Mrs. Pettinger’s generosity and support.
