So, on Thursday night I was messaged by a parent asking if I could give him a call. When I did, he told me that his daughter is dead set on shaving her head to help kick off the 2014 Dance-a-Thon and there is no changing her mind. This young lady is just a sixth grader and approached her parents with the idea. They are in full support of her decision as it is something she really wants to do. After a few hours of discussions, the idea took on a change. The mother of this young lady said she didn't want her daughter to go on this venture alone, so she is going to shave her head too, as is the girl's father!! So, at this time I am proud to introduce you to Alaina Stuckey and her parents Deidra and Jared Mellott! Their goal is to raise $5,000 before March 8th, so they are going to need your help making this happen! Alaina told me today that her mom works with Teagan's grandma, Candy so she really wants to raise money for his family. She also said she wants to do this to honor her grandma, Deb Mellott, who has beaten cancer twice now!!
So, maybe you aren't ready to lose your hair but maybe this will inspire you to be part of this great cause. If you would like to donate, you can mail your donations to the school at the following address. NBC Dance-a-Thon c/o Garry Black, 152 NBC Drive, Loysburg, PA 16659. Let's share this and help the Mellott's and Alaina reach their goal of $5,000!!!!
