Patrick Smith was diagnosed with Renal Coloboma Syndrome when he was only 14 years old. This causes the kidneys to be underdeveloped. With this the kidneys are no longer able to filter fluids and waste products effectively. As a senior in high school Patrick had to have a kidney transplant. Things were going as planned until his body rejected the kidney. At just 20 years old, Patrick is in need of another transplant. As you can imagine in today’s economy the cost of anything is outrageous. That is why the family and friends of Patrick Smith are holding " A Ride For Hope" to help raise money for his next transplant.
