On February 5th, the Juniata College Christian Ministry Board will be hosting Meal for CROP. For this event, Juniata College students voluntarily give up their evening meal, which is then sold to a member of the Huntingdon community. Three-quarters of the proceeds go to CROP, a subsidiary of Church World Service, to fund hunger relief and self-help projects around the world by sending relief money, tools, seeds, and food directly to the people who need them. The remaining amount is donated to the Huntingdon Area Food Bank. In the past twenty years, this event has raised over $50,000 to help in the fight against hunger, both here in our own county and around the world.
Meal for CROP will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013, from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Juniata College dining hall. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Juniata College Campus Ministry Office, located in the Unity House at 1905 Moore Street (814-641-3361). Tickets will also be available at the door during Meal for CROP.
