Halloween “Pooch Parade,” Fine-Wine Auction Highlight 2013 Fur Ball for Central Pa. Humane Society
Following on a highly successful launch in 2012, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will hold its second annual Fur Ball fundraiser on Saturday evening, October 26, 2013, at 6:00 PM at the Blairmont Club in Hollidaysburg. This evening of elegant fun will begin with the Pooch Parade sponsored by Stuckey Ford and Subaru, featuring adoptable dogs from the shelter all dressed up for Halloween. Guests will enjoy a fabulous dinner, a full open bar including seasonal cocktails, great dance music provided by Steve “That DJ Guy” Willett, and an extensive silent auction of unique and beautiful items including pieces of art created just for this event by local artists. New to the Fur Ball this year will be an auction of fine wines, collected and offered by a group of area wine aficionados.
Tickets are $75 per person and will go on sale September 1st in Altoona at the CPHS shelter (1837 Pleasant Valley Boulevard) and Cassidy’s Brew Zoo (3414 Pleasant Valley Boulevard); and in Hollidaysburg at Stuckey Ford and Subaru (500 Broad Street), JEMS Funky Consignments & More (507 Allegheny Avenue) and Beerbower Jewelers (315 Allegheny Street). Tickets also may be purchased via PayPal at the shelter’s web site, www.centralpahumane.org. For updates, please check out the web site and our Facebook page. Last year, the initial Fur Ball raised over $11,000 toward the CPHS mission of finding forever homes for the 5,000 animals who come into our care each year. The CPHS is a non-profit organization and receives no funds from government or from national humane organizations. We rely on our community for support.
