The Altoona Honey Badger Youth Development/Travel Baseball Club is hosting a 10 and under baseball tournament on Aug 9, 10, 11 at East End Youth Baseball League Field. Teams are coming in from across the state to compete in the 1st Annual Altoona Honey Badger Baseball Classic.
The Honey Badger Youth Development/Travel Baseball Club goals are to provide children from the surrounding area an opportunity to become better athletes and citizens. This will be accomplished through dedicated coaches teaching sound fundamental skills and philosophies of highly competitive baseball. Personal attributes such as commitment, dedication, and team work will be greatly fostered. In addition, participation in this organization will directly develop leadership skills through educational field trips and community service experiences that promote community awareness and spirit while evoking a sense of responsibility towards peers through travel, education, sharing, art, and sports.
In conjunction with the tournament, the Honey Badgers are conducting a food drive for the Altoona Food Bank. All teams, families and spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the game to donate to the Altoona Food Bank. We would like to spread the word to the local area for people to have a location to drop off food items and watch some of Pennsylvania’s future stars compete on the field; or, people can just drop off food items if they would like to donate to the food bank.
